Eco & Eco attended the second annual Sustainability Fair put on by the California Center for Sustainable Energy (CCSE). It was a mix of exhibitors with everything from Wal-mart and their fleet of hybrid 18-wheelers to green waste management technologies. We were there marketing our commercial solar water heating systems to local business owners and used it as a business networking event as well. As far as solar companies, there were a few but none that were focusing on solar hot water. The companies that try to do it all, energy efficiency and renewable energy systems will fail where Eco & Eco will succeed. By focusing specifically on the hot water needs of San Diego residents and business owners we will find the best system for you, and by using our network of qualified local installers we accept multiple bids on your job to get the best possible installation price.
Other businesses that are interested in working together with us included a HOA consulting company and a waste management company. Waste management has come along way, and they are able to create gases during the process that can actually be burned as a fuel and heat their water. They however do not produce enough gases during the four short winter months in San Diego to heat the water; their gas bill is much higher during those months. This is where our AbSol collectors and our solar water heating system will come in, which can provide the rest of the energy to heat the water during those months. Using a large unpressurized solar storage tank will allow us to easily integrate with the existing complex heating system at the waste management plant.
An odd industrial application that we learned about today was for hot tub and jacuzzi manufacturers, who have to fill each tub up to the top, can be 500 gallons, with 80 degree water to test them before they are packaged and sold. They do recycle the water and it goes back into the same large storage tank, but it loses heat during the process. This is an excellent application for solar water heating; our large solar storage tanks can be easily integrated into this system, and since all of the hot water is used during the day it will cover almost all of the hot water costs!
